The reason seems very obvious: lithium batteries are extremely powerful and offer maximum energy with minimum weight. However, the advantages also come with some disadvantages. Improper use or unnoticed damage can lead to a lithium battery catching fire. This poses several challenges in practice:     <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How can defects be detected?<\/li>\n<li>How can fires be detected?<\/li>\n<li>How can a fire be controlled?<\/li>\n<li>What can an effective protection concept look like?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These and other questions will be answered in the seminar. The contents of the VdS 3103 and 3856 guidelines, which relate to the operation, testing and evaluation of lithium batteries in safety-relevant applications, will also be looked at.
